Why group?
Life is challenging. One of the ways people get through difficulty life is with the support of others. Many men struggle more than they need to because they don't have enough community they can rely upon.
By engaging in real, honest and open relationship with one another, it's possible for men to both receive and give support ond connection that can create profound change for themselves in many parts of life.
What might come up in group?
Problems in intimate relationships at all stages, whether it's bachelorhood, dating, marriage, or other ways of being in relationship.
Workplace and financial challenges such as deadlines, difficult co-workers or career dissatisfaction.
What it means to be a man as a son, brother, father, husband, or friend.
The overwhelm and difficulty of emotions such as stress, anger, anxiety, or depression.
About the Therapist
The group is run by David Heliotis, LPCC. David studied group psychotherapy in The Psychotherapy Institute's year-long Group Therapy Training Program. He has also been trained in mindfulness and somatic (body-oriented) approaches to therapy. Alongside interpersonal process, he may use mindfulness and awareness of the body to support group members in recognizing and experiencing emotion more fully.
Challenges are easier when we work together.
